Motor Neurone Disease Australia Inc
More than 2000 Australians are living with Motor Neurone Disease, and thousands more are affected as their carers, family and friends. MND is a progressive neurological disease. Its cause is unknown and currently there is no cure.
While some people can live a long time with MND, the majority of people only live 27 months after diagnosis.
Despite its wide impact, MND has a relatively low profile in Australia. MND Australia promotes and supports MND care and research at a national level. We advocate for those affected, provide information and raise awareness of this devastating disease.
We work closely with the six state MND associations who provide direct care for people living with MND and their families.
The key to a world free from MND lies in research that will uncover its cause and seek out treatments. Importantly, MND Australia allocates vital research grants for MND research in Australia.
As a non-profit organisation, MND associations rely on donations. We thank you for supporting our vision of a world free from MND.
